Like any good QOTD, the answer for me, is miata!

Screw each and every one of you who call it gutless, it has a fair amount of torque all through out, its not extremely fast, but on the street, its very nice!

I drove my girlfriend's 2009 autotragic civic. I was taking a road trip to go to a NYE party in Dallas, and with my turbo shitting the bed in my MR2 I didn't feel comfortable taking it. Sad face.

I've actually driven the car a number of times, and have been kept informed of its successes and failures over the last two years. It's an excellent winter car, especially if winter involves lots of snow. The short, wide stance makes it driftable on the narrowest of roads without worry (I've been in the car with him driving enough to know that), with manageable, firm handling in all conditions. It's also better in the cold than my E24, which starts to complain when the temperature gets below 50 and has to go away for the season in November. The E30's heated seats work great, it's heater is strong, and it generally does great in the winter.

There are, however, two issues. The first is that the ix has a number of ix-specific parts, including much of the suspension and steering linkage. This makes those parts expensive to replace (or difficult to source, if you're doing the work yourself as he does) when they do go wrong. The other issue is that, like any car designed in the '80s, it's prone to rust. So there's that.

All in all, though, I'd recommend it. You just have to know what you're getting into.

hm, well thank you for that, i still do consider the car, especially because i just want an E30 anyway, the ix covers a lot of ground, i cant daily my Fc every winter haha, but im sure i still have one or two to go until i can do the E30

Full disclosure: I was only there to fill gaps as we pushed them back to the corral. I was not of the ones to gather them and then push them initially. These guys are full time cowboys. It was fun, though.
